Did you miss us?

Shadybrook officially opened for the season today. Kind of. There is no water yet thanks to a slow ground thaw.

We were excited to see our little silver girl. Doesn't she look great?

Our excessive use of Bounce sheets and Irish Spring worked again this year and not only did Phoebe smell fresh when we opened the door, she also did not house any rodents over the winter.

We walked around Shadybrook and chatted with friends we haven't since the fall.

We caught up with fellow Airstreamer Val over dinner at the Nine Iron Grill. It was a beautiful evening for dinner on the patio.

What's new at Shadybrook?
  • Our next door neighbours - we look forward to getting to know them over the season.
  • New Speed Limit of 10 km/hour and Slow Children signage all over the resort...

  • We hear there is a possibility of wifi. Fingers crossed.
  •  There is an arborist on site. We had more trees taken down over the winter = more fire wood. If you are new to reading our blog, there was a massive storm last year that resulted in many trees coming down.

However, there's a fire ban so we are not allowed to burn all the wood we have.

  • The roads are going to be grated
  • There are rumours of Shadybrook expanding to add up to an additional 80 sites. That will really impact ice cream sales at Trestle Creek.
  • Ned and Fred are starting to look more swan-like and less flamingo. They need more pink shrimp in their diet. They did an outstanding job guarding the wood pile(s).

Westley spent his usual glamping time in the car while Phin sunned himself.

We hope the water is on next weekend so we can de-winterize and clean Phoebe and load her up for the season.

We are looking forward to many adventures. Stay tuned!
